You should be able to do that with Wii U too props to Wii U controller. Hell, you could even play it in local multiplayer without the need of another 3DS+"SSB 3D"
At least for me, since right now i've got my 3DS, i'm eager to play it on that tiny little screen, but i know that as far as i've got my Wii U it will be more interesting to play it there
