Because it set up for the PS Vita perfectly. It's probably not a coincidence that the PSP Go and PS Vita are price the same at launch. Sony wanted to guage interest in a $249 PSP. It was obviously low, so they knew to go no higher for a more capable system. They also saw that people don't like Download only gaming devices, thus they gave us the NVG card for PSV games. They saw people complain that Sony made a new PSP system but didn't add a second analog stick. They saw people complain that that full PSP game selection wasn't on PS Store. And hopefully they saw that 802.11b sucks. PSP Go was brilliant, even though it may look like a failure.
