At best Sony will catch up in late 2009, but by then there's a good chance people will be talking about the XBox 720 launch in 2010." This proves every PS3 fans point. The 360 will see a replacement long before the PS3. I would say 2010 at the latest. Based on the PS3 hardware, I would say the PS3 will outlast the 360 by at least 3-4 years. Even if we see a new PS in 2012, the PS3 will still be selling another 4-5 years later. I highly doubt M$ will be selling the 360 after they kill it. So again, Sony will make more money on the PS3 and sell far more units over its lifespan. |
You know, I could have seen this post in 2004, 2005, but not know. Have you seen the sales chart? The PS3 is flat out getting thumped by the 360. It's 7 million behind and only chipping away at the lead. It's like trying to move a beach using a plastic spoon. You can do it, but it will take you forever to accomplish it.
Another things folks fail to realize is - yeah, the PS3 has the faster sales than the 360's first year, but are folks expecting the same 360 customers to buy a PS3? What reasons do folks have to buy a PS3 over a 360? With similar lineups, plus several exclusives (Bioshock, Mass Effect) vs. the PS3 exclusives (Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted), the systems will sell because of hot exclusives. Right now, the 360 is winning that battle.
And why would MS roll out another Xbox? You are getting their trojan horse entry into the video game race confused with the 360. There's no pending video card lawsuit - it's not playing catchup with the dominating PS2 - it's not fighting for system-selling exclusives - it's out first, with a 7 million lead and currently selling a grip of software. And to ax it - just because the original Xbox failed? ROTFL.
Delusional is a good word to describe folks who believe MS will fail with the 360.
