| Goddbless said: It would seem that you are just now realizing that Nintendo is still a company first and foremost. Their strategy is clear. They've survived the past couple years with limited software on the Wii and they believe they can do it one last time before the Wii U comes out. Don't they have a new Just Dance game coming out for Wii? That game should be on pace to sell tons. As for the Wii U they want to bring in the demographic that didn't buy the original Wii. They also looked at their biggest seller which is the DS and made the Wii into a bigger DS kinda like what Apple did in creating the iPad from the iPod touch. As for no DS announcements, I don't think it needed it as the DS is outselling the 3DS. They don't want that to continue! All in all their strategy makes sense but it sucks for those not ready to upgrade to a 3DS right now and those looking for some great new games for the Wii leading up to the Wii U. I think the thing that makes the Wii drought seem so bad is Nintendo fans can't really count on 3rd party software as much. |
Well this is my first console if that makes things any more clear as to why I'm not used to this. Regarding your last comment, lack of third party support certainly makes things much worse. So far there are exactly 2 games that I am buying for Wii throughout all of 2011. I may go back and buy some older games I missed depending on how much free time I have...
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
