Would not be surprised, since Nintendo tried to champion console to portable connectivity for a while, failed to get it rolling and for the last few years have had to sit and watch Sony roll through perfecting and improving on most of what they intended on trying to do back in the GB era.
Although the lack of any mention of it at the press conference seems to put doubt that Nintendo has fully mastered it yet and thus won't release any info on it.
