You are missing the point and obviously don't know enough about human history of drugs, etc. It won't make the cartels stop because then they would just deal coke, heroin, etc. I am saying it would stop the violence over marijuana. There will always be a demand for drugs. You can't stop it. So lets just fight a pointless never-ending war on drugs and throw all the users in jail instead of trying to possibly help them with their addiction. You are ready for congress with all the other idiots there. Thanks for proving my theory that most people are oblivious.
Go watch some of the History Channel drug specials. You will see that most drugs in the USA became illegal due to prejudice against other races (this is the case for a most of drugs in USA that are illegal except for heroin, morphine, and a few others (which white people were mainly the addicts)). Mexicans smoked the majority of marijuana back in the day and we didn't like Mexicans too much back then so we made it illegal. Chinese liked to smoke opium but once the Chinese started taking the white man's women luring them into opium dens that soon became illegal. Coke was thought to be a super drug for blacks that could stand up to a hailstorm of bullets from cops. Coke was soon made illegal... Educate yourself instead of making prick remarks.
