I want a system that:

- Has a great focus on core games. All the core players like this system

Thanks to fanboyism and whatnot, that hasn't been the case for any system ever.

- Has a good online service

...and yet you like Sony? (Sorry. It had to be said.)

- Looks neat. Preferably black with blue/red colouring. Shouldn't look like something you could find in a young girl's bedroom

Neither the 360 nor the Wii U (the console, not the goofball controller) look girly at all, IMO.

- No motion control options. Just a good, solid controller that is easy to use and works well

What's wrong with options? And does the Sixaxis piss you off?

- Has very good graphics

PS360 have good graphics, yes? Wii U will have better graphics still, and PS4 and Nextbox will surely trump it.

.....No-one seems to focus on the core anymore the same way that Xbox and PS3 did. Maybe I'm just a idealist, but I don't like the way all the companies are trying to appeal to both, or moreso the casual audience. What I think we need is a company who's target market is solely the core

You basically admitted in your OP that this isn't economically viable, though. So I don't see what the problem is with the companies targeting teh casualz as long as they're bringing the games you want to play. I mean, honestly, I don't understand why you're unhappy. Maybe I just have a wider taste in games than you do or something, but even excluding anything that incorporates Moves, there just isn't enough time in the day for me to play every PS3 game I would like to.
