I don't think you can aim well while holding the controller with two hands. The Wiimote is the perfect shape for pointing.

If you look at the controller carefully when they show the back, you can see a dark translucent rectangle on the top of the controller. I'll almost guarantee that's an IR camera for use with the Sensor Bar, which we know for a fact the system will use.
