Now that seems like a different issue.

I think if we were talking about the Xbox 360 and then a completely new Xbox 360 with a touch screen controller then you might have a point, but from what I understand the Wii U is like the jump from Xbox to Xbox 360.  So you're not just getting a new controller, you're getting a new console and that's one of the features of the new console.

^This.

I'm seeing people talk about this as if it's just Wii with a new controller. It's a pretty damn big leap in graphical power, and the rumors and asides seem to suggest deeper online and mulitplayer functionallity, and, to some of us who don't own mulitple systems, a chance to experiance the best of all worlds with Third party HD ports and originals, plus the huge first party games we ALL know are in development, even if they weren't shown today. the controller is just a shit-ton of delicious frosting on the cake.

Except for many people, late ports of third party games, as good as the games might be, are not deal makers. Furthermore, as much as there might be a leap from the Wii to WiiU in terms of power, it still seems on par with current gen 360/PS3. This means that it doesn't offer the same "wow!" experience that a lot of gamers got when they first placed Gears of War or MGS4.

The controller looks interesting, I would like to try it out or at least hear a lot more about it before judging.
