The rear touch pad is completely new, both in smartphones and in dedicated gaming devices.
In the portable space, having two analogue sticks is also a gamechanger. Playing with two analogues instead of one can make a huge difference.
And compared to the 3DS, there are a few differentiators as well.
1) Sony's AR is much better and doesn't require AR cards.
2) The 3DS doesn't have touch on its mainscreen.
3) It's got 3G.
4) It has several ways of connecting with the PS3, and we're already seeing that being used extensively. The 3DS doesn't really do much with the Wii.
