Had Microsoft announced a non-Halo exclusive game, and maybe shed some light on it's more "core" kinect titles like Project Dragon, Steel Battallion, Rise of Nightmares, and HEavy Fire: Afghanistan, it could have been a good showing. Ghost Recon showed potential for Kinect hardware to mainstream gamers. However this never happened. It was an okay showing, but outside of Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable and Kinect, MS really has nothing. How many years can they sustain themselves on just that?

I mean would it really have been that difficult to strike up a deal with some developer to make a new IP of the same quality as LEft 4 Dead or Lost Odyssey? Project Kingdoms could have been so much more.

Of course that could be better, but even Nintendo "won" last year with only established franchises. And well, the conference was not this...

Last Year Nintendo had Donkey Kong Country, a 15 year old IP which was getting a reboot from Retro Studios. Kirby Epic Yarn was cool, a new Zelda was announced, Metroid: Other M, Wii Party, Pokemon Black/White, Golden Sun (another old IP), and some infor on the 3DS. although no new IP's were released, most of their IP's haven't seen a new interation within the last 3 years.

If Microsoft announced a Jade Empire 2, a new Conker, or given infor on Project Dragon or Steel Battallion, those wouls all be old IP's, but at least they haven't seen interations recently.

You can't show Halo Gears and Forza every year and expect people to be just as hyped.
