I would've figured that was obvious. What you're seeing is them trying to muscle Sony out of the Japanese market altogether by creating a console my convenient to the Japanese lifestyle that will also get those 3rd party games PS3 has been taking away, and a handheld which eats into the base of games PSP has had (though Monster Hunter will be the make-or-break player there)
