I'm glad for the Portuguese people, if you need to be fiscally responsible, it's better to have a government that believes in the policies you have to implement. I've never seen a socialist party that it's fiscally responsible. |
In this special situation that Portugal has been facing and will face, because of the international aid, the social party wasn`t ready to fully follow that program given by the IMF and EU. For example, the IMF and EU had in their plan a request to substancially reduced one tax, yet the leader of the social party was saying that they were just going to reduce a little bit as to not hurt the portuguese people. I honestly don`t think it`s right to sign that plan one day and in the other, pratically saying you are not going to follow it (that line in particular).
Actually, some people who actually know what they are talking about said that for that tax reduction to have an impact, it really needs to be reduced significantly.
