I don't think people need portable controler to play the game while being in toilette ;) Since it's Japan we are speaking about we can safely assume that most of them will have protable anyway (as they probably spend more time in trains than at home).

So what about your kid who wants to take a portable to his room? Or you want to game in your bed?
It's all just guesswork because we know so little about Café, but I think it might be something Nintendo is after.

Considering i didn't feel such needs in the last 21 years of my gaming career I'd say it will be niche at best ;)
And actually I'm one of few who own Blazblue PS3, PSP and tried playing it while streaming from PS3 to PSP - trust me it sucked due to lag.
