Sony had about $5.3 billion in profits leading into the PS3. That has wiped out $4.5 billion of those profits. Sega had gained about $2.5 billion before launchign the Dreamcast. That ate up almost $1 billion in losses itself and pushed Sega out of the hardware department. Nintendo has gained over $20 billion since the Wii launched. And has gained approximately $33 billion since launching the NES. Right now, Nintendo has the highest profit to employee ratio of any major corporation on Earth.
