3. You never played Eternal Darkness, did you? Hacking off limbs and heads was a main portion of gameplay.
6. Actually, the original Play Station pad was based on the SNES design because it was part of the joint development between Sony and Nintendo. After that failed, Sony altered the design a few times before finalizing the game pad. But if you look at those progressions, you can easily see the SNES pad origins.
