Most people don't buy a Wii because of the little supply. For the most part, the Wii mote is helping the Wii. Adults and Doctors like the Wii cause you can get exercise when playing. Something that wasn't in the GC. This introduces new customers that didn't buy the GC but bought the Wii. A big sales incentive over the PS3 and XB360. The controller is a little hard to use sometimes but the entertainment and the exercise outweighs a small issue.
