Zelda's problem is Nintendo thinks a Adventure Games are RPGs

I've played Zelda 1, 2, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask each through many many times. Majora's Mask I only played 3 or 4 times though... Wind Waker and Twilight Princess once each. In my opinion, the order is as follows:

 

1. Ocarina of TIme
2. Link to the Past
3. Majora's Mask

The rest I change my mind about regularly. While I felt Majora's Mask was an excellent game, I always feel better playing Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time. As with those two games, I always feel like there are many portions of the game I want to re-experience, and they stay in my head for weeks after I finish them. This same thing is not quite true for Majora's Mask or any of the other games.

I feel they nailed the idea with Link to the Past, and they perfected it with Ocarina of Time; and the deviations from that formula, while in some cases excellent, are less than the Perfect Masterpiece of Ocarina of Time.
