This guy just released a demo of his Metroid 2 remake. It looks pretty good. Im playing his other metroid fangame Metroid:Confronation and it seems pretty darn good. It really feels like a metroid game. Exploration seems a little lacking but it is an enjoyable experience which makes me wish for a real 2d metroid game or at least 2.5d one for the 3ds.
