The US federal government has no money. In has much less than no money as it is in the hole by trillions of dollars and gets over a trillion more in the whole every year. The majority of the US federal budget is waste and misuse of government. All government funding of arts programs has to be cut right now. There is no other option. Either destroy the US by doing things like this or try to save the US by cutting funding in half.
Frankly, the person at the NEA that thought funding videogames made sense needs to be fired because they clearly have zero understanding of reality.

thats what got us into this mess, people saying, oh its only several million, dont worry our debt is 14 trillion, thats nothing, people wont even notice. we have to cut everything

Actually no we dont have to cut everything, we need to get rid of the Bush Tax cuts, get rid of tax cuts for multi billion dollar corporations, and cut military spending. That would put us back to having a surplus like we had in the 90s. But the worst thing to do in a recession is cut spending, it just widens the hole.

we all saw how the massive amounts of spending by the gov has gotten us out of this mess....oh wait it didn't. The worst thing to do in a recession is to take money out of those that create more wealth through high taxes. We are seeing the results of this now.

But they arent creating jobs, at least not in this country, ever since we have started giving them more money the unemployement rate has gone up. So how does that fix the problem genius?

We are not giving them money, they are keeping the money they have earned through hardwork. Maybe that is the problme with the gov/people now a days, they see everything as theirs. Its a given, no need to earn anything. Taxes for everyone is too high. We need to get back to the basics. Gov should provide Safety from each other through a police force, safety from other nations through the armed forces, and they should educaet those under 18. Other than the government needs to get its hands out of our lives and let us live. They should not be running our retirement, healthcare, arts, and what ever else they have their hands in. They should dictate the standards that private companies use to run those kind of programs. The US government has shown itself to be pretty in effiecient in many things so they should only control what they must-our safety.
