Doesn't the difference in megapixels on a small screen barely show that much difference.  On a small screen you can get decent resolution with barely any megapixels.

 

As you can see from the photos in the OP you can clearly see a difference. The photos are blurry and not as clear. The biggest problem is with lightening and contrast. It's good for simple use but if you really want to capture a 3D moment then you are better off buying another device. 

Almost every cell phone these days has a better camera. I am also aware that te 3DS camera is the same in megapixels with the DS one. Cheap.
