But you don't understand how games have evolved (in a bad way) and restricted the player movement and interactivity to such a minimum that it resembles on-rails. "Linear" is not a too strong word anymore to describe the directed theme park joy-ride that is Uncharted and Call of Duty and most other modern shooters.

In the shooter world Medal of Honor started this phenomenon and Call of Duty refined it.

I have to wonder why it matters so much? Sounds like you aren't interested, which is fine, but why drag the point into the ground? Many don't agree with you (myself included), but it's not going to get anywhere when it continues to derail the thread.

I have to defend why i called it on-rails instead of linear.
