At 27% completion on the PS3 and absolutely loving it. Haven't played anything like it before but if I had to compare it, in my mind, Heavy Rain comes to mind. For a lot of the same reasons people have mentioned above, the realism of the characters for the most part. I have played GTA4 more than I care to admit, and while I enjoyed it, I got bored with it after a while. Played and beat Read Dead Redemption in about 3 days and it was an amazing experience and I have gone back numerous times to replay it. Playing L.A. Noire so far I really don't feel like  I'm playing GTA or RD:R at all. To me, other than the running and cover system/gun play it feels nothing even remotely like GTA. The atmosphere is completely different, the charachters are engaging, the driving or lack there of is just feels different. Like I said, in my opinion, I don't feel like I'm playing GTA at all... It just has a different vibe to it, a different feel. To me, feels much more like a Heavy Rain. Actually the best way to put it, it feels like it's own game. I plan on completing it and I don't see myself getting bored of this game any time soon.
