I don't trust old users about how good the "good ol' days" were. In pretty much every community I've been to, older members always moan about how things are far worse than they used to be. People just dislike change and claim the older times were better when, in three years time, there'll be people moaning about the terrible '13 members and how awesome 2010 was.

Oh, and if we're to go by older members of this site, then clearly it's better for this community if Wii succeeds, ;). Apparently, things have been ruined since Wii started dropping off in 2010, xD.

You're right. I disagree with them.

Nah, back before the site added on the news/reviews, the site was much more sales focused.  This attracted a much more intelligent crowd.  The trolls existed all the same (Hus, Blu, Leo-J back before he went through Puberty, Crazzyman, etc.) but the discussions were a lot more interesting because of the unique userbase the site attracted and the awesome discussions they had.

My first post was on a thread predicting MP3 sales, where multiple users (myself included) were modeling the sales graph using various functions (mostly using exponential decay).  There were 1000 word jutifications for why MP3 would sell 300k in the first month vs. 500k.  I'd also like to point out that my predictions were spot on.  Like, it's ridiculous how accurate I was.
