Get the (N64) F-Zero X and (GCN) F-Zero GX at the least. GX is very hard but has a ton of extras like building your own craft etc.. I enjoyed F-Zero X a lot back during N64 days. Time might not have been the best but as long as you have an open mind and not complete graphics whore you will enjoy F-Zero X a lot even today. F-Zero X was built for speed and it still has plenty of that. You can get GX from Amazon for about 5-6 dollars. That is a steal if you ask me. Picking that up used from Amazon and d/ling the VC F-Zero X would cost you about 15-16 dollars for two great games.
