Not really. If people didn't go "It's on a Playstation, I have to get it!", they aren't going to go "It's on a Nintendo system, I have to get it!".


Well,I know quite a few people where Blu-ray was part of the purchase of the PS3.  If it isn't everybody, it is some people.  Heck, my parents got a PS3 just for Blu-ray.  I know, anecdotal.

 

If Nintendo and MS have it (I strongly think MS will have BD playback standard), then it does help the format penetration.

Nintendo has no advantage to help for the format penetration... the money won't go on their pocket... Sony (obviously) and a little microsoft (for some blu-ray codecs) have more incentive to do so.



But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.
