That's what I thought at first as well, but from what I understand now it's not a portable system at all.  The console just "streams" the game being played on TV onto other players' controllers, which would explain why the screen is so large and rumored to have a very high resolution.

So you could, say, play a multiplayer game of Mario Kart and each player has their own view of the game on their controller as opposed to having to split the screen, hopefully keeping framerate intact better.  Other uses could include augmented reality if the conroller has a camera on the back, or people interacting with a game on the TV by utilizing their controller's screen.

I agree that the video could be a fake, particularly where the projector images are concerned, but at the same time the console in the video does bear a striking resemblance to the one shown in the VGchartz news article; kinda like a large router.  And personally I really like that look for the system.
