These are traditionally the slow months anyways. Nintendo and MS aren't pulling out their big guns for the spring, either. Holiday Season 2007 will be the decider for the future of the PS3 (And wii for that matter). I think Xbox360 could weather a mediocre holiday season if things don't go well (though i predict that Xbox should do just fine if not great). If PS3 sells really well this upcoming season, then the system will do just fine for the next 5 years. If it bombs, in that it doesn't sell through the roof, then Sony should hit the panic button.
I think thats based on hope more than anything else..
I predict halo 3 alone will sell more than the total of PS3 games released this year and the 360 will outsell the PS3 by at least 3:1, thats before adding in forza2, shadowrun, bluedragon, lost oddysey, bioshock, too human, .... and mass effect, pgr4
A combination of the above plus GTA4 (with exclusive online content) could be a bif deciding factor..also expect a dollar by dollar matching of any price cut by sony by MS with the 360..
There seems to be a total apathy for ps3 worldwide, japan is worce than the US and that is its home territory

um, I don't understand the gist of that first part? What was based on hope more than anything else?

I was speaking in terms of worst case scenarios.  If Xbox360 sells 0 consoles and PS3 pwns and doubles its marketshare, MS would still have like a ~3-4 million unit lead in the race. that's what i meant when I said that MS could weather a mediocre holiday season.

But under just regular circumstances, MS should do just fine come the-day-after-thanksgiving
