Aye and then there's another 15-20 minutes of cutscenes and then you finally get to the first fight tutorial which is kind of dissapointing. After that I couldn't take it anymore and sent it straight back to Gamefly!

Yup.  And I'm usually a sucker for niche Japanese games.

I'm gonna give it another shot though.

Yeah I'm sure it gets better after the initial boringness..I just didn't have the patience to stick around though lol.
