"I sti lthink everyone is confusing what 'legs' is."
Sales were worse after release than the Prime games' post-release sales. It doesn't matter how you define legs then unless you think lower sales are what it means.
"You';re still overlooking the very important point he, and I, have brought up a dozen times. Metroid Other M is a game 'trying' to be mainstream."
Wait. Did you actually read my comments here? I agreed that it was trying to be mainstream. I just stated it failed at that. And it's usually the defenders I see denying that it tried to be mainstream, to excuse the lower sales.
" Its story resembled that of games like MGS, Resident Evil or even God of War with overacting, exessive drama not tied to gameplay and ridiculous situations."
And? That still doesn't excuse the execution.
"but really it comes down to you saying her character was ruined, based on your opinion"
No, because I don't claim she was ruined.
"If I'm to say EVERYTHING about Other M sucked, I'd have to claim those other games I mentioned above were also bad for the same reasons."
Um, we aren't claiming everything sucked. Try some of Data Design's games.
"people made the same complaints about Samus in Metroid Fusion, but now claim that game is 'good'."
Um, what makes you think those are the same people? Plenty of people still thought the game was good back then, and plenty don't think it's that good now (I personally think it was good but falls short of greatness, and that hasn't changed from when I first played it).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
