He claims there are more surprises for the Wii and then goes on to talk a load of shit. He could only mention one good game. I'm sorry, but sequels to poor party games like Wii Play and a Wii bundled with Mario Kart is not a "surprise".

Your opinion of what games are worthile is only valid if he was talking only to you instea of other people. Plus he wasn't claiming those were the surprises.

Well I didn't expect him to just say what these surprises are, that would defeat the whole point of it being a surprise. But he didn't elaborate on it, he just changed the subject onto the only big title left for the Wii, Zelda, and then started talking about Mario Kart bundles as if they were something special.

He said "there are plenty more surprises in store for [Wii]" but failed to give enough detail, probably because he knows that there really aren't any more "surprises" for the Wii and all their attention will be moved to Project Cafe.

EDIT: And I know it is a matter of opinion when it comes to casual games, but I highly doubt casual gamers would be reading that article right now.

Just think about it. Why announce new games when E3 is just around the corner? My above post has a proverbial launch line-up. I wouldn't be surprised if that does indeed occur.

The Wii will have more surprises. It still has the big 5 JRPG's to come over here (DQX, Xenoblade, TLS, ToG and Pandora's Tower), and plenty other Japan-only games ATM, and who knows what from Retro and other developers. Wait for E3, then we'll talk again.

I've always wanted to play a JRPG on the Wii. JRPG's motion controls = a dream come true.

But I wouldn't get your hopes up for most of those games, especially ToG. Although I think it's a good idea releasing ToG on the Wii, if they release it on both PS3 and the Wii and the PS3 has extra content, not many people would buy the Wii version. And if the Wii version gets the extra content then the ToG Wii owners in Japan will complain.

Does Xenoblade have any relation to Xenogears?

And are any of those games confirmed to be released in the West? I might pick them up.

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, if Nintendo didn't have many Wii games in E3 2010, why would they have any more in E3 2011 when all the focus has shifted to "Project Cafe"? And the guy being interviewed seemed to change subject pretty quickly after mentioning that the "Wii has more surprises" because he probably doesn't feel confident enough to make false promises. It just seems like typical PR to me.

To my knowledge Xenoblade has no relation to Xenogears or Xenosaga.  It was orignally known as Monado, the name was changed after announcement.  The Xeno... prefix comes from the fact that Tetsuya Takashi (the director behind Xenogears and Xenosaga) played a part in the development of the game.

As for your second question I'm assuming your asking about the 5 JRPGs Conegamer mentioned.  Xenoblade is the only one announced out of them, it was announced for a European release (rumoured to be September).  I am as certain as I can be that DQX will be given DQIX's good Western (and in particular European) sales with the help of Nintendo's marketing push.  I expect The Last Story will as well, given how much money Nintendo spent on that game and the amount of ads it recieved in Japan.  Tales of Graces is unlikely for several reasons; firstly because Scamco-Bandai are twats, secondly because the PS3 'f' port has been announced for Western launch, and thirdly because it's the inferior version.  Pandora's Tower is the strange one.  I have no idea whatsoever about it's localisation chances, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for it.
