Even if they used the rumored components, it would not have a BOM (Bill Of Materials) greater than $250. I'm not tabulating in the contollers with HD screen since that seems so out there it's not worth speculating on yet. If $450 is their target retail price, you can bet they are workign with a BOM of $350-$400 which would mean a console much more powerful than the rumored specs or possibly including those HD screen controllers.

Of course as I have said in other threads I am not believing any of the rumours or speculating on them. I myself think Nintendo will launch far superior hardware to this gen and I wouldn't be suprised if the end hardware ended up retailing for 450$ the amount IGN came up with.
As for the other baseless rumours like the screens on the controllers. I think we'll just have to wait and see what Nintendo announces. Though I must admit since DS rumours have always been incorrect. Nintendo innovates and is very tight lipped about their products I don't think they would have let the main controller design leak like this.
My prediction is that Nintendo will launch a truly next generation system. Setting the bar for Microsoft and Sony. I think next generation the three will be close enough to port titles back and fourth. I wouldn't be suprised to see a Nintendo system as expensive as 450$ or as little as 350$. I think Nintendo will launch the new hardware at a substantial profit.
But then again my predictions are simply my own, not based on rumours or speculation of rumours.
