It makes your E-peen harder if you own the platform, otherwise it just incites rage in you as you say how much it sucks and your console of choice exclusives are better 
In all seriousness it's better in a few ways, you've got optimization, able to design around the platforms unique aspects like Wii Remote, Wii Motion Plus, Balance Board, Kinect, Move, and Sixaxis. When games are designed from the ground up knowing these restrictions generally the final product is much nicer. Plus every first party seems to be more than willing to help you with your game if you make it exclusive.
Hope this helps a bit, though in most cases being a multiplat doesn't change much other than the graphical fidelity.
