Considering XBL Gold is 60 bucks a year now at most, I think it's safe to assume that having to go days/weeks without a console ENTIRELY while it is broken is far worse than not being able to access online for a month. Buying a new console and waiting days/weeks to be able to play it is far more costly than simply not being able to access online features. A month without WoW is $15 --  a week without a console while having to buy a new console is $300 plus.

Having your console break is much worse for the individual. On the other hand, as far as amount of people affected and on the industry as a whole (consumers and developers) I agree the PSN outage is far worse.

Actually, whenever you get the RRoD and send it in to MS you get a free month of Live. And last time I got RRoD it only took 3 days till I got my console back(not mine, but whatever)

Really? I never heard about that free month of Live deal. All I heard back in the early years were people getting RRoD, shipping their consoles to Microsoft, and getting a new or refurbished one back a week or more later. I also remember a lot of people just buying new consoles and having to pay a lot out of pocket over this whole debacle. Then in 08 or so they upped their service as far as I recall.

Did you not have to pay a single dime when dealing with your RRoD? What years did this happen for you?
