Well considering I was a Sega fanboy back in the genesis era, I never got to play this game. Hearing him say "it's bettur!" a million times over without really convincing me isn't really doing anything for me. There's that, and there's the fact that every single point he made against SF64 I actually loved about it.

The internet would be nothing without SF64 one-liners. Nothing.

The internet can also be used to inform one self about games you know nearly nothing about. In a way Star Fox 64 is like the new Star Wars trilogy. You don't realize that it's a step down from the original, if you don't know the original.

Here's the intro and first stage of Starfox. Corneria's music alone is better than the entire Starfox 64 soundtrack.

If you watch this gameplay video, then Starfox sure does look primitive. But remember that it was a SNES game and the only way that console could handle these polygon graphics was by having a Super FX chip in the cartridge. The game really does need and should receive a remake with modern technology. But please no changes to the gameplay. No arena levels which were the worse half of Starfox 64 and the entire game of Starfox Command on the DS.

I've seen the gameplay videos, but they still don't convince me. I've been under the impression it's one of those "you have to play it to understand" deals, which is where the issue lies. That being said, I will agree with you on two points:

1) The game's graphics, enemies, scenery, etc are so insanely outdated and old that this game really COULD use a remake much more than SF64. It would probably be more interesting as well since they could really evolve this game rather than just making SF64 flashier.

2) The music is badass. But if they were to ever seriously do a re-make, they'd have to re-make the music to fit modern-day sound quality. I would definitely agree they should keep it as close to the original style as possible, though.

One thing that really bugged me about the video you showed me:

Slippy is an annoying cock-sure dumbass, just like Falco. There is only room for one of those in my Star Fox world, and I'm not about to give that role to Slippy. I'd much rather he be a pansy-ass pilot who feeds me endless sympathy humor.
