We all know Nintendo in the past has scrapped a console. That console being Virtual Boy which Nintendo swept under the rug when it failed. Assuming Nintendo can't turn 3DS around and NGP kills it off this winter. Could Nintendo scrap 3DS?
Nintendo talked in 2004 that if DS failed they could always fall back on GBA and that platform would continue being supported. Well if 3DS fails could Nintendo keep the DS going strong long enough to give them time to launch another platform? Or long enough to let them keep it another generation?
Is Nintendo in a position where the option of scrapping is illogical? Does Nintendo even have a choice?
If Nintendo scrapped 3DS and released a new handheld in 2013 would they be able to recapture ground? Would it be too soon to launch another platform?
Disclaimer - I don't think Nintendo should scrap 3DS, I just think it would be interesting to get users opinions since Nintendo has scrapped hardware before. Is it an option for Nintendo and if so why? If not why not?
I will put my own 2 cents in later in the thread!
