Does anyone still believe Wii can outsell PS2?

It seems like it would still be possible to limp there.  Afterall, look at the PS2 itself, which kept selling even after superior versions of it were on the market.

And also after the analysts on this site kept claiming it was entering it's death throes. Here we are in 2011 and the PS2 is still chugging along.

After reading through the thread though, Seece offered some pretty enlightening numbers on the issue. I don't think the Wii will manage to reach 140 million, let alone what the PS2 will finally end on.

I wouldn't expect it too either... however i'd really need to see the graphs in full before I could make a full comparison and in general compare trends across every generation.  Things with higher peaks would be expected to fall faster even with more demand.

In general i'd say "Probably no, but can't rule it out without a deep analysis."

I miss those charts.  Have nowhere to get my statistics fix now.  My years of statistics knowledge are probably getting rusty.
