"Project Cafe" should release in Spring 2012
"XBOX 720" should release in Spring 2013
"PS4" should release in Fall 2013
That is when I reckon each console's life cycle would have ended. The Wii was a fast seller but was short lived. The XBOX 360 enjoyed decent sales but it is now dying off, the fact that it is still a powerful console and has momentum from Kinect means that an upgrade isn't needed just yet though. The PS3 had a poor start but since 2009 it has really been hitting its stride. For MS and Nintendo, 2011 is the weakest year for them, for the PS3 it couldn't be any stronger. It is a shame to see the PS3 take off so late into the generation, SONY will have to release their next generation console slightly earlier to compete with Nintendo and MS, even if the PS3 still has life in it at that time.
