A new AC each year for the last 3?? is this what i want a great franchise to turn into - not really.

i would prefer a sequel to Prince of Persia 2008 Ubisoft than a new AC each year.

It's milking but who can blame them when it's so hugely successful? And Ubisoft still manages to provide the greatest quality possible with these games. The best new IP in this gen and every game is as polished as they can be.

And the Assassin's Creed dev team easily has over 300 people in it. Naughty dog, Treyarch and many others make bi-yearly games but their teams are like 90 people. So you do the math which franchise gets the most development resources.

6 studios working on Assassin’s Creed Revelations

The development of the fourth game in the Assassin’s Creed series has been confirmed, and it has quite the army supporting it.

Titled Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the 2011 game is once again led by Ubisoft Montreal, but with five additional Ubisoft studios assisting: Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest. Massive is the new addition, the rest were involved in Brotherhood as well.

The entire series has sold more than 28 million units worldwide to date, today’s announcement also says; plenty of reasons for another one then.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations is seen as the final chapter in protagonist Ezio trilogy and will gallop players to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where those pesky Templars are up to no good again.

The multiplayer component introduced in last year’s game will return, “refined and expanded,” with added maps, modes and characters up for grabs.

In addition, according to Ubi Montreal’s creative director Alexandre Amancio, players can expect “lots of new features and some significant surprises.” But those are being held back for now.

The game will be out in November for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Should history repeat itself though, expect the PC version to slip into 2012.

More information will be included in the June issue of Game Informer, and of course at E3 next month. For now though, check a larger version of the first screenshot above in the gallery here.

yea I think with 6 Studios there are probably more than 300 people working on this one, I think they brought in Massive to handle the PC version considering their legacy is all PC RTS games. Which I guess means that the PC version should launch day and date this time round.

Oh also you are underestimating Treyarch, they have over 250 developers in house.

Well over 300 people, Ubisoft Montreal has 1,700 employees according to wiki, and I would bet at least half of them are working on Assassin's Creed given their games announced

Far Cry 3, Harvest Moon Online, Assassin's Creed Revelations and the Splinter Cell trilogy

They are probably also working on Rainbow Six, but still, there are almost certainly 1,000 people working on this game and bare in mind, Uncharted 2 was made with 200 people in 2 years, so with that number of people, time is not really the issue

I assume most of the Montreal team are actually working on Assassin's Creed 3 and have been ever since 2 went gold. Also that is probably over 300 full time on Brotherhood and more during the last few months.
