But what Chibi said was true, Valve games are more established on the 360 (The Orange Box launched on 360 a few months earlier and Left 4 Dead's 1 & 2 are only on it and PC). Portal 2 performing better on 360 despite the extras for the PS3 version, I would think, reinforce that theory (since it's because of the Americas why the 360 version is ahead, where the 360 is a good deal ahead of the PS3). It makes sense. Besides, there's nothing at all suggesting that Dark Souls could or will do better on the 360, but if it does, it confirms there's a fanbase for a Demon's Souls style of game (if it plays like that) on the platform. That still won't disprove what Chibi said though. |
Following Chibi's logic, the X360 version shouldn't sell more. From Software, if not as established on the PS3 as Valve is on the X360, has developed an exclusive for PS3; it already has a PS3 audience and if your prediction of a Demon's Souls 2 comes to fruition, it will probably be developed by From Software again. It might not disprove Chibi, but it doesn't settle his (or her [I don't know, either way works for me]) argument.
I find it curious that either From Software or Namco Bandai is interested in Dark Souls being multi-platform since it will be a PS3 exclusive in Japan only. It looks like they're not willing to put all their eggs in one basket.
