I don't think that's gonna happen anymore. 3DS is gonna get it if anyone does.

I think that's possible.  Horii likes to "lead in" to a new DQ with older remakes, but releasing DQI-VI on the Virtual Console might be enough for him too.

Then again, he also confirmed DQX isn't the only DQ game still in development for Wii.  We might not get DQVII, but we're probably getting something else at least.

With Wii 2 announcement I'm starting to doubt that. It wouldn't be strange to see them launch on Wii 2. I still doubt any Japanese third party will anounce anything for the Wii anymore. I have the updated list and PS3 is leading 61 to 7 on third party games. Wii hasn't received any new announcement this year save for super sentai rangers cross or however it's written lol.

Moving to Wii 2 would probably demand a total redo of assets and other things likely well into development.  Whatever DQ games are heading to Wii have likely been in the works awhile, I don't really think anything we might see (DQVIIr, Torneko 4 , Itadaki Street Wii, etc) makes much sense to switch right now.  Especially since it's pretty clear DQX isn't going to move over.

Wii also had Momotaru 2011 announced this year, but it was canceled due to the earthquake (and likely Konami's takeover). Mario & Sonic 2012 too, though that's a weirder situation (Nintendo published in Japan by contract) and Virtua Tennis 4 was announced also.  And some WiiWare stuff yet still, notably River City Ransom 2.
