3DS will pick up again once Nintendo releases Mario Kart and a few other of their IPs. Third party games that look to be good on the 3DS will be the RE and MG series. Anyways, Nintendo should try and cater third party companies but they shouldn't revolve too much of their strategy around them. Nintendo's games sell their systems. Having good third party support is an afterthought to me. If the third party companies want to be lazy and release crap for a system then they deserve low sales. If they actually put effort into the game then it will sell. A good Wii example would be MH3. The first two Monster Hunter games didn't even sell 1 million combined on a system that had a much larger consumer base. MH3 will surpass 2 million probably by the end of the year or so. MH3 should have been the model for third parties companies producing games for the Wii.
