A digital download only future is no cure for what ails the game industry. It is a band-aid at best, and could be sticking a knife in your own back at worst. All of the actual studies I've seen on the subject suggest that a healthy used market supports the new market.
Yes, publishing cost will drop. But will that make up for the lost revenue?
