Huh? What makes you think it goes away? The game is still yours to keep when the service doesn't exist, PSN is offline now but you don't hear anyone complaining about how they lost their PSN games.

What would happen if Steam died? You could still use Steam in offline mode and play your games as you used to.

There really isn't that big a difference.
