Well it makes more sense when comparing something like 2007 to 2008 since the data is complete for both years.  It would be nice to have better tools for normal users though.

Oh, I defintely agree.  It just looks weird when the whole year isn't even up.  Lol, makes the industry look like its in jeopardy.
