So I'm pretty sure Bin Laden is dead. At most conspiracy theorists could doubt the date and cause of his death...

edit - or I guess you could say he was otherwise captured or severely incapacitated. That is possible, though it also seems risky to lie about it.

That would be an ideal way to get him to show himself, claim he's dead loud enough that he'll have to counter-claim, and then you can backtrack his proof, then kill him

I don't think any politician would risk being embarassed by doing that.

Besides, Bin Laden has already put out tons of videos since 9/11, and it doesn't seem that they were a major help in tracking him...
