This comes out to be 810,000 units sold worldwide.  And while you may not consider that a lot...consider that when the game came out, people were predicting it was a failure selling just 400,000 units.  If the current sales show anything, its that this game does indeed have legs, selling twice as much as its first months sales, and still rising steadily.

From the thousands of 'Other M killed Metroid' threads that followed its release...

I'm not talking about the predictions.  I'm talking about what people were saying about the game 3-4 weeks after it launched.  If anything, the comments about Metroid 'failing' came from people who were guessing it would sell that high before.

Well the dropping legs made it evident that it wasn't going to outsell any of the Prime games. Furthermore, the fan reaction and inability to move systems showed the game wasn't catching on.

So while not a bomb, it was not a success.
