#2.) I know the difference and it is noticable. On the DS your finger feels resistance when sliding it up, down, left and right. On my Captivate smartphone there is none what so ever. Well, it is actually there but very very little, much less than then DS screen. Maybe you're right though, they won't notice. I just know that I would much rather prefer capacitive. #3.) You could be right, but why put 3D if your making a motion title? Seasickness simulator?
You think that would sell? I bet some people actually would buy it. "Sailing: The REAL seasickness simulator" |
You're confusing the difference behind the material they're using to make the touchscreen with the different screen mechanics.
Having that "resistance" has nothing to do with being capacitive or not. You probably didn't have a smartphone back before they started using capacitive screens, but they used the same type of glass they use nowadays (at least, the HTC ones that I had did). The phones back then were also designed to use a stylus, but the screens themselves (unless they had a screen protector on them) felt the same as the phones today.
The reason the DS and 3DS screens feel the way they do is because Nintendo designed them to take a beating from 5-year-old kids pushing way too hard with a stylus. Your average touchscreen phone has never been built with that in mind.
