He also said that an announcement about the title can be expected later this year. Although Square Enix still isn’t saying much about the project, apparently series composer Koichi Sugiyama told fans at a concert event early today that Dragon Quest X will be released next year. Considering the same thing happened to Dragon Quest IX, where Koichi Sugiyama confirmed it would be coming out in July of 2009 in Japan, I think this is a pretty solid lead. But even without this hint, there's little time for them to release it anyway, considering the next Nintendo system has been confirmed for mid to late 2012.
Frankly I can't wait. Especially since Yuji Horii already stated the game would be closer to the design and gameplay of Dragon Quest VIII.
