I'm not sure what you're referencing (since I didn't use the word "barely"). Edit: If it's in conjunction to Gears 3, an unannounced Halo game, Mass Effect 3 (no solid release date), and Assassin's Creed III (also unannounced), than yes, my sentiments are that none of those will do much to Uncharted 3 at all. Just look at the rundown: Gears 3 launches 1.5 months prior to UC3 (and is only on 360), no Halo game has been announced (and is also only on 360, so wouldn't do much to Uncharted 3 anyway), Mass Effect 3 will do nothing as PS3 fans will opt for Uncharted 3 and it won't matter for buyers on the 360 (and it still has no solid release date), and a new Assassin's Creed is also not only unnanounced, but will probably affect Ucharted 3 as much as Assassin's Creed II affected Uncharted 2 (i.e. not at all). In short, there's too many "what-if"s and "could-be's"right now. I don't see any other competition that may truly give it a run for it's money outside of a new CoD (not confirmed - but we know something's coming), and Skyrim. |
For the record a new Assassins Creed is confirmed for holiday 2011. Ubisoft announced it and said the reveal will take place in May. My bet is that it will be on the cover of GameInformer.

But I see what your saying and respect your opinon as well and either of us could be right. But I think your argument is slightly flawed in that when you keep saying how oh well AC 2 didn't affect UC2 there was also FAR less competition. If all of the games announced for holiday release for holiday, there will be franchises that take hits to their sales. I don't think Uncharted 3 will take a big hit really, I even said that it will outsell Uncharted 2. I just think the sheer amount of competition is going to keep it from FAR outselling Uncharted 2.
